Gone Today, Hair Tomorrow

My fearless readers, it is time to get the Transitional Milk back out of the fridge.  I would like to resume with a summary of the adventures that I have had since beginning my sabbatical several weeks ago.  It has been an incredible summer so far, and I have had some of the most exciting and interesting experiences of my life.  However, none of that stuff is any of your business.  Instead, I will be providing you with a pictorial display of a few of my numerous alter-egos. Variations on a Memory

Many of the most powerful memories from my childhood involve food.  When I was growing up, Mom would work a full-time job and still come home and cook meals for herself, Dad, my sister, and I.  Like me, she was a prep-time snacker.  It was impossible to make it through a session of carrot-dicing without having a few nibbles.  By the time dinner rolled around, she might only have room for a bowl of canned spinach with vinegar on top (!?!). Quotes of the Month: April

Occasionally, you hear something uttered that induces a double take.  You look carefully at the person who said it, just to make sure that they are joking.   However, they are absolutely serious.  This is the first installment of a new feature here on Transitional Milk.  Here you will find a few of the most interesting, baffling, or unintelligible groups of words that I have come across this month.  Some of these were heard by me in person, others were brought to my attention by others who found them on television or in print.  I hope you enjoy… Continue reading
